Member Benefits

MNHPA is committed to supporting its members through a variety of valuable programs and services. Many of these benefits are provided through the MNHPA Benevolence Foundation and administered by the Benevolence Committee. The following benefits are available to eligible members:

Chiropractic Treatment

The Foundation will pay $20 per visit for a maximum of five visits. You are responsible for a $15 co-payment at the time of treatment. Chiropractic services are available on a first come first served basis Wednesdays and Fridays.

Optical Services

The Foundation will reimburse 80% of the cost for an eye examination, glasses or contact lenses up to a maximum of $100. After completion of the required forms and payment receipt to the MNHBPA, reimbursement will occur.

Prescriptions

We recommend that prescriptions be filled at Wal-Mart. You will be reimbursed for payments over $10 when you present a receipt to the MNHBPA office. There is a maximum reimbursement of $50.

Abijah’s on the Backside

Abijah’s provides professional mental health therapy services to backside employees, first responders, veterans, and military personnel with Off-Track Thoroughbred (OTTB) horses. abijahs.org

Chaplaincy

The chaplaincy serves as a support network for the Canterbury Park horse racing community providing spiritual care, benevolence programs, activities and chapel services during the racing season.

Furlong Learning

Furlong Learning provides educational services, tutoring, and enrichment activities for backside families within the Canterbury Park horse racing community during the racing season. furlonglearning.com

Racehorse Aftercare

After a racehorse is done racing, they typically live many years following their life on the racetrack. Horses, like people, want and deserve to enjoy their lives after a career. Quality horse aftercare is critical to horse racing and a very important part of responsible racehorse ownership. The following accredited organizations have strong and reputable aftercare relationships with the MNHBPA and Canterbury Park:
